I love this bag - it attaches easily and securely to the bike and looks like a nice bag rather than a macho pannier. Too small for shopping, but perfect as a briefcase and easily copes with bike lock, I-pad etc. It seems to be very robust and well made.

I absolutely love the Basil Katharina Pannier. Hats off to the Dutch for producing attractive, feminine, elegant panniers that can be used as normal every day bags. The hooks that secure the bag to rear bike rack can be hidden in a zipped compartment once it is detached from the rack. It is even made from recyclable material, which provides you with more brownie points when you are cycling around town.

Amazon makes the purchasing of this bag more affordable, but I can see myself developing a pannier fetish.

I haven't tested the water repellancy of the bag, but I would prefer to take care of it and use it more as a bag for when I go out rather than a heavy duty pannier.

The only negative (I guess I had to come up with something) I would make is that, it would be better if the bag had a double zipper as once it is naturally place on my right shoulder the zipper is at the rear of the bag creating a bit of a security issue.
