EL530 is a lovely and bright but as fragile as a light bulb
The EL530 bike light is lovely and bright, the switch mechanisum on the rear is well placed and easy to use.

However, these lights are as FRAGILE as a tradional light bulb.

I dropped my EL530 only once whilst removing it from the handlebar mounting and the bulb unit broke to my suprise as I my experience of LED bulbs are that they are far tougher than tradional bulbs.

You can not buy a replacement bulb unit you have to buy a whole new light.

So the EL530 really bright but as FRAGILE as a tradional light bulb.

Superb light, solid as a rock.
This is by far the best front light I've ever used on my bike. It is very bright (so much so that you need to be careful you aim it slightly downwards so as not to dazzle oncoming drivers), and the spread of light is excellent. There is a central beam, which light up the road ahead, but also a circular pool of light around this, which illuminates just about everywhere else - so if you're on a pitch black countryside road, the hedges and verge to both sides in front of you will be well lit.

Provided you treat it to a decent set of rechargable batteries (it takes 4xAA), battery life is very good. I use this light for winter commuting to and from work, and don't have to charge the batteries often.
