It is impossible to buy full-length mudguards here, so I've had to resort to getting them sent. Those token jobs that are ubiquitous nowadays just don't do the job. Any water about and you get wet from the knees down, as well as in the face and up the back. Since I don't wear cycling gear for my 5km commute, it is a drag arriving with wet shoes on the few days in the year when it rains.
The SKS mudguards are easy enough to fit. All the nuts and bolts needed were in the pack and everything appears to be stainless, which is good here by the sea. I did need to cut the stays by about 15mm to get them to fit -not easy with an old hacksaw and no bench! About an hour to complete the task of fitting, I would say. I have a rack on the back of the bike and that presented no problem, even fixing the stays to the frame. There is no rattling or any other problem now they are fitted.
