The description says waterproof, however the product description card that comes with the bag indicates it is showerproof.
I haven't tested how waterproof or shower proof it is as I haven't been able to fit it to the bike securely enough.
The straps that fit around the cross bar are too long and can not be shortened. This means the bag can not be secured tightly enough around the cross bar. This means that for me, it moves and slides about far too much.
Over than that minor detail a great bag.
