Good quality
I wanted a durable, roomy bike bag mostly for the times I do any bigger shopping. This bag seems to be very good quality and looks nice, I haven't used it enough to say how it would endure a more frequent use. I can only blame myself for not foreseeing the limitations of the double bag; it's not the easiest to attach to or take off the bike rack, which is why I tend to leave it at home. I think it would be great on a long distance cycling trip though.

Stylish and Practical
I was looking for panniers that would hold a lot but also look smart on my bike. The bags more than live up to that. I can fit so much stuff in them! Mostly gym kit but also I can fit my whole week's shopping in the two spacious main compartments! They also have lots of extra pockets for putting smaller items in.
The thing that drew me to the Basil brand was the fact that they have reflective strips on all sides whereas other makes don't. This simple little thing makes me feel much safer at night knowing cars wont smash into my overpacked panniers!
The colour of the panniers is a little more purple than in the picture, but still mostly dark navy :)
What you can't see in the picture is that under the top flap there are buckles securing it down so it doesnt blow up in the wind, there is also a drawstring to the main compartment helping to keep the contents dry in case it rains.
